Reflection
The Voicethread was a lot of fun! It was a challenge to figure out how everything worked, but I eventually got the hang of it. My cousins, Piper and Scout, narrated the story. We had a few bloopers and lots of giggles. They were really enthusiastic about the whole project. Working with them gave me a chance to see what I might expect if I used this in the classroom. I learned that it is easier to have all of the pictures uploaded before recording the comments. It’s also a good idea to tell the students not to twirl the microphone or fiddle with pieces of paper because you’ll hear the noises on the recording. I also found that highlighting the voices of different characters would come in handy.

I would definitely use the Voicethread in my class. I would probably make it a class project where each student would have an individual slide to read instead of each student having his or her own Voicethread. Maybe in the upper Elementary or Middle school, they could work in groups or by themselves to create a Voicethread, but I’m not so sure about primary grades. It would take some time to teach, but the benefits of gaining a new technological skill are great, especially in today’s world.
